Aero Shield is an ability learned by the Elemancers.
Aero Shields causes air to swirl and eddy in a rough sphere around the caster, particularly when something from outside attempts to enter that sphere at speed. This causes dangerous objects (such as incoming weapon strikes, arrows, elemental bolts and so forth) to be partially turned aside, allowing the caster to more easily dodge them. Lighter objects, such as arrows or throwing knives, may be blown completely off-course without the caster even having to dodge them.
The air is so easily manipulated that the caster can perform actions that exit the sphere of swirling air without interference, such as firing arrows out of the shield.
Once cast, Aero Shield grants the caster a dodge bonus of +20/+10% for as long as at least one aeromancy channel is maintained, and has a chance to outright blow small projectiles off-course without needing to calculate dodge or block rolls.
- Usage: While maintaining at least one aeromancy channel, channel shield
- Energy cost: 5 for the initial cast.
- Duration: As long as at least one aeromancy channel is maintained.
